Sports and exercise

Sports 4 U is for individuals aged 16 and over, who wish to return to moderate to high level sport or exercise. The programme offers a varied timetable with sessions facilitated either by trained coaches or physiotherapists. We also offer education on general health and wellbeing, such as diet, sleep management and healthy lifestyles.

Our Project aims to:

  • Increase physical fitness

  • Provide meaningful routine

  • Increase social interaction

  • Improve exercise tolerance

  • Increase confidence in physical ability

  • Raise awareness of the importance of overall physical and mental wellbeing.

Adult Services Brain Injury Matters

Activities in the community

We offer this service anywhere in Northern Ireland and mentorship is provided by Brain Injury Matters staff and volunteers who have similar leisure interested. We offer peer support, introduction to others who have experienced an acquired brain injury and links to local social activities either on a 1:1 or group basis.

Our projects aims to:

  • Encourage integration into the local community

  • Offer pleasurable and age appropriate activity

  • Increase social confidence with peers

  • Promote communication skills

  • Reduce social isolation

  • Encourage leisure activity outside the family unit

Activities at our Centre

The Wellbeing Programme offers a wide variety of group activities including sports/exercise, creative arts, health promotion and seasonal events. All of our activities are adapted to ensure each service user has the opportunity to participate on a physical and social level.
