Belfast Sports Awards
The Belfast Sports Awards took place at Belfast City Hall on 24th March. The ceremony was attended by the Lord Mayor Brian Kingston and Dame Mary Peters.
The Belfast Sports Awards pay tribute to the efforts of volunteers, coaches etc in the local community who help to make Belfast a healthy and active city. Brain Injury Matters were nominated in the Healthy Lifestyle category (to recognise the contribution of an individual or group going the extra mile in the promotion of a healthy city. They should have made a positive impact on raising the profile and increasing awareness of the physical and mental health benefits of an active lifestyle). Brain Injury Mattes were nominated for their Active Belfast funded progamme that includes NeuroPilates, Yoga, Horitculture and Nutrition to promote a healthy and active lifestyle amongst service users and the wider Belfast community.
Unfortunately, this time Brain Injury Matters were unsuccessful in winning an award. However, we were delighted to be recognised and nominated; this in itself pays tribute to all the hard work that staff do on a daily basis for survivors of acquired brain injury.
